LEARN LUDO
Five Ludo mistakes beginners can fix today
Ludo still depends on the die, but beginners often give away choices they already have. These small corrections make a noticeable difference.
1. Racing only one token
A single advanced token looks good until a roll gives it no legal move. When the board is not too dangerous, bring a second token into play to create options.
2. Moving without checking behind you
Before you move, look at the opponent tokens that could land on your new square. A safe square can be better than a small burst of distance.
3. Treating every capture as urgent
A capture can be powerful, but it is not automatically best. Compare it with the value of protecting a nearly finished token or reaching a safe square.
4. Wasting a six
A six creates a choice. You may be able to bring out a new token, move an existing one, or secure a safer position. Pause long enough to see all legal moves.
5. Forgetting the exact finish
Near home, count the remaining spaces before committing another token. A token needs the right roll to enter the centre in the common rules.
